Gleaston Castle

This Castle was set out with four towers at the corners of four curtain walls.

The Castle was unfinished as a working fortification, but areas were made fit for habitation.

During the Scottish wars, many castles were built across Furness and Cumbria, including Dalton, Piel, Broughton, Millom and Sizergh Castles.

When the Scottish Wars and raids ended, Gleaston castle may have become redundant and was left incomplete.
